Design House

International boundaries are no barriers to Design House’s capabilities in creating your dream kitchen. We work only with iconic global brands and our unique approach to customer service allows us to travel as our clients desire. Many of our international clients were originally clients at home who then chose Design House to furnish their overseas properties.

As our international projects show, our trademark crafted classic or contemporary kitchens look sensational at any location, anywhere in the World – even the middle of the ocean.

There are kitchens and there are Design House kitchens.

Poggenpohl Segmento, Vilamoura Portugal

The owners of this spacious holiday home at Vilamoura in the Algarve have long been clients of Design House in Ireland. They commissioned us to work with them and their architect in Portugal, Vasco Vieria, to create a kitchen which would complement the modernist contemporary architecture.

The kitchen at Vilamoura is a vast glass vaulted room which opens out at the touch of a button to reveal the pool and terrace, creating a stunning outdoor-indoor space. Poggenpohl’s Segmento kitchen was chosen for its architectural appearance and lacquered units in Spanish Red with stainless steel worktops were selected for maximum impact, teamed with Gaggenau appliances.

Living Kitchen, St Tropez France

The villa has an incredible hill-top location not far from St Tropez in the Cote D’Azur. The owner, a client of ours in Ireland, wanted the classically French interiors of her beautiful residence to imbue elegance, refinement and stylish comfort and was in no doubt that Design House’s bespoke kitchen range, the Living Kitchen, would deliver everything she wanted.

The kitchen opens out onto a veranda for al-fresco dining, allowing the light to flood in. We created a classically styled kitchen, yet with a lightness of touch to complement the overall feeling of the house. Solid oak units were entirely hand-crafted and then hand-painted on-site. Worktops are in Italian marble and the kitchen is fully equipped with a Sub-Zero fridge, four-oven Aga and a range of Gaggenau appliances.

Marine living

Interior design for prestige yachts has become more and more sophisticated in recent years with designers and manufacturers increasingly adapting what they do on land for the marine market.

Backed by Sub-Zero and Wolf, our global network of appliance partners who have developed special marine capabilities for their products, Design House is able to transfer all our land-based skills to life at sea, designing and building exquisite classic or contemporary furniture for boat kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and dressing rooms.
